Key Scriptures: (NLT)Psalm 8:4; Psalm 80:17; Psalm 2:7; Romans 8:11
Key Word: FOMO: fear of missing out.
- Jesus on the cross took care of our sin, and Jesus in the grave took care of our desire to sin.
- The power of the cross restores our authority over our flesh.
- When Jesus conquered the grave, He destroyed the sting of death.
- At the cross Jesus made us conquers but at the grave He made us more than conquers.
Let’s Talk: Can you remember a time when you feared missing out on something?
What emotions did you have?
How can missing out affect others/yourself?
When can the fear of missing out be a negative thing?
When can the fear of missing out be a positive thing?
Let’s Think: Many times, as Christians, we can get stuck at the cross, mourning the horrible death that Jesus suffered but never walking in the power and authority He restored back to us through His sacrifice.
Where are you at? Are you stuck at the cross or are you walking in the power and authority He restored back for us?
If you struggle with walking in your power and authority, find some scriptures to help you on this journey. Ask God to show you how these scriptures apply to you personally. (i.e., Luke 10:19)
Going Deeper: When Jesus was laid in the tomb He wasn’t just sleeping, He was working. Jesus stripped the power of sin and death from Satan once and for all and conquered death, hell and the grave making it possible for us to never miss out again.
How does Jesus’s victory over the grave change your perspective about death?
How does Jesus’s victory over the grave make you more than a conqueror?
How does Jesus’s victory over the grave make it possible for you to never miss out again?
Walk It Out:
Because of Jesus’s death, burial and resurrection, we are free to live out our divine purpose. Not even the fear of death can stop us!
What things have been keeping you from walking out your purpose that you now have authority over?
What is one step you can take this week to start taking authority over the obstacles that have held you back from fulfilling your divine purpose?
