Message Notes | Kingdom Fight | His Kingdom My Kingdom

The Kingdom Fight

In the beginning….. Genesis 1

Heaven and Earth were united. (Eden)

Mankind’s commission. Genesis 1:28 (Original picture)

  1. Multiply
  2. Be fruitful
  3. Have dominion
  4. Subdue
  5. Fill the Earth

Fill the Earth with God’s Kingdom

The Fall

Mankind rebelled against God and His Kingdom

There was a separation of Heaven and Earth (A vail separated it)

Heaven is still a part of Earth but mankind begins to push it out!

Matthew 11:12

From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it. (NIV)

And from the time John the Baptist began preaching until now, the Kingdom of Heaven has been forcefully advancing, and violent people are attacking it. (NLT)

The Commission of Mankind Doesn’t Change

Despite mankind’s fall and rejection of God’s Kingdom, God still honors the original agreement. ie… Gen. 1:28

Instead of fulfilling the commission, man builds his own kingdoms.

This results in mankind creating a HELL on earth by choosing what is right and wrong for themselves at the expense of others.

HELL on earth becomes the condition of mankind when they reject God and His Kingdom. ie… weeping and gnashing of teeth, cast into complete darkness. Matt. 25:30, 22:13, 8:12, 24:51

Gnashing of teeth – in rage against the righteous. (Angry and frustrated)

The Purpose of Jesus

Jesus preached the gospel message of the Kingdom. He was announcing that His Kingdom was invading earth once again!

Jesus put a plan in motion to destroy the Kingdom of Darkness.

Mankind would be recommissioned through Jesus to fill the Earth with the Kingdom of God.

Matthew 16:19 TPT

I will give you the keys  of heaven’s kingdom realm to forbid on earth that which is forbidden in heaven, and to release on earth that which is released in heaven.”

It’s the process of reuniting Heaven and Earth.

The Common View of Christianity

There is a place called Heaven

There is a place called Hell

We live on a planet called Earth (That’s not so great)

If I’m good I go to Heaven(If I say a prayer I get to go to heaven)

If I’m bad I go to Hell(If I don’t say the prayer then I go to Hell)

What is the Kingdom of God/Heaven

It is the rule and reign of God!

It’s the expressed will of the King!

Where is the Kingdom of God/Heaven

Wherever His rule and reign exists.

It should be in you!!!

Luke 17:21

The kingdom is not discovered in one place or another, for God’s kingdom realm is already expanding within some of you.”

God’s Kingdom exist in you when you submit to His rule and reign.

Mark 4:1-20

Sower – God

Sows seed – the word (of the Kingdom)

The ground – your heart

Humanity’s Struggle…

is the internal battle to do what is best for me and to redefine good and evil for my own convenience, comfort, and benefit at the expense of the people around me.

Will I build my own Kingdom, or will I let God build His Kingdom in me?

The Kingdom Fight

Our fight isn’t against Satan and all the evil out there, it’s against ourselves. Will weallow God to truly rule and reign in our hearts and lives?

Satan is already defeated, but it takes the Kingdom working inside us to live in that reality.

The choice has to be made every day to submit to God’s Kingdom (His Rule and Reign), in order for the Seed of the Kingdom (God’s Word) to take root in our hearts and bear much fruit.

3 Areas of Struggle

  1. The Individual
  2. The Family
  3. The Church

The Individual

How am I redefining good and evil for my own comfort, convenience, and benefit, at the expense of others?

Rationalizing – attempt to explain or justify one’s behavior or attitude with logical, plausible reasons, even if these are not true or appropriate.

  • It’s ok if I’m rude to them, they were rude to me!
  • That waiter/waitress doesn’t deserve a tip, they were slow and my food was cold.
  • I cheated on my taxes just a little, but it’s ok because the government is so corrupt.
  • I know that movie has nudity in it, but it’s ok, I am an adult you know.
  • It’s ok for me to get that abortion because I couldn’t provide for the baby anyway.
  • It was just a little lie, besides, I didn’t want to hurt their feelings.

Often times we become judgmental in our rationalizing.

Luke 18:9-14

9Jesus taught this parable to those who were convinced they were morally upright and to those who trusted in their own virtue yet looked down on others with disgust:

10“Two men who went into the temple to pray. One was a proud religious leader, the other a despised tax collector. 11-12The religious leader stood apart from the others and prayed, ‘How I thank you, O God, that I’m not wicked like everyone else. They’re cheaters, swindlers, and crooks—like that tax collector over there. God, you know that I never cheat or commit adultery; I fast from food twice a week and I give you a tenth of all I earn.’

13“The tax collector stood alone in a corner, away from the Holy Place, and covered his face in his hands, feeling that he was unworthy even to look up to God. Beating his breast,  he sobbed with brokenness and tears saying, ‘God, please, in your mercy and because of the blood sacrifice, forgive me,  for I am nothing but the most miserable of all sinners!’

“Which one of them left for home that day reconciled to God? The humble tax collector, not the religious leader! For everyone who praises himself will one day be publicly humiliated, and everyone who humbles himself will one day be publicly honored and lifted up.”

  • Did you see the way that person was dressed, there is no way they know God
  • I know they smoke, that’s why God will not heal them
  • They never have any money because they spend it all on beer
  • God hates those people because of their lifestyle choices
  • Those people drive a Tesla, they are probably rich and stuck up.

Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar

Genesis 16:1-4 NKJV

1Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. And she had an Egyptian maidservant whose name was Hagar. 2So Sarai said to Abram, “See now, the Lord has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go in to my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai. 3Then Sarai, Abram’s wife, took Hagar her maid, the Egyptian, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan. 4So he went in to Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress became despised in her eyes.

Sarah decided for herself what was right and bypassed God’s plan.

King David takes Bathsheba and has her Husband killed.

Samson and Delilah

The Hebrews

Judas betraying Jesus

Saul/Paul persecuting Christians in God’s name

Ananias and Sapphira lying about their gift

What is the cure?

Jesus is the cure! We all need to ingest the medicine of the Kingdom of God. It’s called the Word!

The Goal is to allow God to choose what is Good and Evil for you, despite your comfort, convenience, and benefit,

We can become so concerned with our own comfort, convenience, and benefit that we despise the word of God. Just like Sarah did.

What can we do to have victory in our internal struggle?

Examine yourself

2 Corinthians 13:5 NKJV

Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.

Psalm 139:23-24 TPT

God, I invite your searching gaze into my heart.

Examine me through and through;

find out everything that may be hidden within me.

Put me to the test and sift through all my anxious cares.

See if there is any path of pain I’m walking on,

and lead me back to your glorious, everlasting way—

the path that brings me back to you.

Ill. Johari’s Window

Seek the counsel of the wise (Blind Spot or Hidden)

Proverbs 12:15 TPT – Listen!

A fool is in love with his own opinion, but wisdom means being teachable.

James 3:17 NKJV – Seek Wisdom from above!

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

Proverbs 19:20-21 TPT – Seek God’s plan not your own

A person may have many ideas concerning God’s plan for his life, but only the designs of God’s purpose will succeed in the end.

Psalm 1:1 NKJV – be carful who you seek wisdom from. ie. Jobs 3 friends/Wife

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

Proverbs 28:26 – The battle is against yourself

He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, But whoever walks wisely will be delivered.

Who do you have in your life that you can go to for wise counsel?

Give the Holy Spirit space (Revelation)

Romans 8:14-17 TPT – Moved by the Spirit

The mature children of God are those  who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 13:2 NKJV – They waited for direction from the Holy Spirit.

As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

Acts 16:6 TBT

The Holy Spirit had forbidden Paul and his partners to preach the word in the southwestern provinces of Turkey…

Romans 8:16-17 TPT

For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!”

And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has.

The Holy Spirit Confirms that you are a child of God!

We inherit His Kingdom – all that He is and has. The Kingdom is in us!

What’s the knock on effect?

Adam and Eve

Abraham and Sarah

Esther

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego

Dan 3:28-30 NKJV

Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God! Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because there is no other God who can deliver like this.”

Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in the province of Babylon.

What are some of the knock on effects that you have created in your life? Good or Bad?

God wants to plant His Kingdom in your heart and watch it flourish and grow. Is your heart open and ready?

Are you willing to submit to the King?

(Submit – Yield to a superior force or to the authority or will of another person. To be under obedience.)

Are you willing to let God guide you in what is right and wrong?

Are you willing to set aside your own comfort, convenience, and benefits to bring the Kingdom of God to others?

When I submit to the Kingdom, I allow God to define what is good and evil and do not seek my own comfort, convenience, and benefit at the expense of the people around me.
